It was not the PTI workers but someone else who was involved in the May 9 arson attack, Chairman PTI

Lahore: During the JIT investigation, Imran Khan, the Chairman of PTI, stated that individuals other than his party’s workers were involved in the arson attack that took place on May 9.

Sources reveal that on Friday, the JIT team interrogated the chairman. One of the questions posed by the JIT was about evidence suggesting Imran Khan’s involvement in incitement related to the events of May 9. In response, the PTI chairman clarified that he was arrested during that time and did not incite anyone through communication.

When asked about the reason behind people gathering in the cantonment area, Imran Khan explained that those who apprehended him were heading to the police station.

Further inquiry revolved around videos and clips where protesters were seen chanting Imran Khan’s name. The chairman denied any instigation on his part and reiterated that the involvement was not of PTI workers but of other individuals.

The JIT also brought up evidence indicating communication with the alleged individuals, Aslam Iqbal, Hamad Azhar, and Murad Saeed. In response, Imran Khan commented that having contact with someone is not a criminal act, and suggested that the matter could be discussed with his legal representative.

The JIT asserted that the lawyer would be summoned to court as they were present for investigative purposes. It’s important to note that there are six cases related to terrorism concerning the events of May 9, all of which are under investigation by the JIT with regards to Chairman PTI.
