Japan announces $3.62 million grant for polio eradication from Pakistan.

In Islamabad, Japan has pledged a grant of $3.62 million for the elimination of polio in Pakistan. This funding will facilitate the purchase of over 21 million vaccines, which will be utilized in vaccination campaigns, including the provision of meals for children.

Dr. Nadeem Jan, the Federal Health Minister, emphasized the longstanding collaboration between Japan and Pakistan since 1996 in the fight against polio. He expressed a strong commitment to making the eradication of polio a top priority for the government.

Despite the existing challenges, Dr. Jan asserted his determination to eliminate polio within the current year. He assured that, in partnership with various stakeholders, every child would have access to vaccination. Working urgently to address challenges, he emphasized the government’s dedication to safeguarding the country and its citizens from the polio virus.
