KARACHI: Three coaches of Shalimar Express from Shahr Quaid to Lahore derailed near Bin Qasim, fortunately no one was injured in the accident.
According to News, the Shalimar Express from Karachi to Lahore narrowly escaped a major accident on Monday morning. At 7:51 AM, when the Shalimar Express reached Bin Qasim Town Badal Nala at a speed of 45 km, three of its coaches derailed, but there was no loss of life.
According to the railway officials, the railway operation was suspended due to the accident, the relief operation was started immediately on the notification of the accident, the passengers of Shalimar Express were transferred to Cantt Station of Karachi by relief train, the affected passengers were transported by Karachi Express. Will be dispatched to Lahore.
Railway officials further say that the track affected by the accident was restored soon, about two and a half hours after the accident, the Awam Express and Hazara Express departing from Karachi were sent down the track and the railway operation was completely restored.
According to sources, this is the third train accident that happened near Bin Qasim.
