Islamabad: Khawaja Haris, a senior lawyer, has decided to step down from his role within Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s legal team concerning the Tosha khana case.
Sources indicate that this decision was motivated by concerns related to discipline. Sardar Latif Khosa and other legal representatives will now handle Chairman PTI’s representation in both the Supreme Court and High Court.
Khawaja Haris has transferred all relevant case files to Chairman PTI’s new legal team. Consequently, he will not be present during the hearing at the Islamabad High Court regarding the plea for sentence suspension. Notably, Khawaja Haris also did not appear during the August 22 court hearing.
Furthermore, Khawaja Haris will not be providing legal counsel for the pending petition in the Supreme Court pertaining to the Toshakhana case. It’s worth mentioning that Khawaja Haris had advised against raising objections to Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court. Nevertheless, some members within Chairman PTI’s legal team had suggested objecting to the bench led by Chief Justice Farooq.
