In the premises of the court in Islamabad, PTI lawyers reportedly assaulted Khawar Manika, the former husband of Bushra Bibi.
The appeals against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s sentence in the Iddat Nikah case were being heard by District and Sessions Judge Shah Rukh Arjamand.
During the proceedings, Khawar Manika expressed criticism towards Imran Khan, which led PTI women in the courtroom to chant “Shame Shame” and throw water bottles at him, even resorting to physical assault by slapping him.
Following the hearing, as Khawar Manika exited the courtroom, he was allegedly subjected to further physical violence by PTI lawyers present there.
Witnesses claim that PTI lawyers attacked Khawar Manika, with one punching him to the ground while others attempted to join in the assault. However, individuals accompanying Khawar Manika intervened and escorted him away from the scene. Outside the courtroom, PTI supporters were heard chanting slogans demanding “Release the judiciary.”
