Fast bowler Haris Rauf, who opted out of the Test series against Australia, has responded to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after receiving a show-cause notice. Rauf cited his withdrawal as a consequence of insufficient practice with the Red Ball, highlighting it as the primary reason for declining the tour.
The PCB had issued a show-cause notice to Rauf, alleging a breach of the central contract by refusing to participate in any form of cricket as stipulated in the agreement.
It’s worth noting that the contract binds players to be available for all cricket formats.
Chief selector Wahab Riaz revealed in a recent media conference that he urged Haris Rauf to join the squad for the Australia series, but Rauf declined. A conditional NOC was issued just yesterday, including Rauf among three Pakistani cricketers for the Big Bash League.
