
Lahore and Karachi have once again secured the top positions as the world’s most polluted cities, according to the Air Quality Index. Lahore registers at 284 particulate meters in its atmosphere, while Karachi follows closely behind at 231 particulate meters. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, holds the third position with 201 particulate meters, and New Delhi, the Indian capital, ranks fourth with 187 particulate meters.
To contextualize, readings between 150 to 200 signify polluted air, while 200 to 300 represents highly polluted conditions. Anything exceeding 300 indicates dangerously high pollution levels.
