The fans of Colombo Strikers were taken by surprise when Narushan Dakvila was announced as the new captain for the Lanka Premier League (LPL), despite Babar Azam’s previous fame and experience with the team.
Babar Azam’s supporters questioned the decision, feeling that his leadership skills were overlooked. Although Babar Azam was included in the team through the draft, the franchise ultimately named Narushan Dikwila as the captain.
The squad for Colombo Strikers includes notable players like Babar Azam, Imamul Haq, Naseem Shah, Wahab Riaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Muhammad Nawaz. However, due to their national commitments against Afghanistan in a series of three ODI matches, these cricketers will only be partially available for the league. The fourth edition of the event is scheduled to take place from July 30 to August 22.
