In the aftermath of the Tosha Khana case hearing at Islamabad High Court, a situation unfolded where Imran Khan’s attorney, Latif Khosa, along with others, found themselves trapped in an elevator.
The incident led to a deterioration in their condition, prompting the administration to initiate a rescue operation that took approximately 45 minutes.
As reported by Express News, video footage has surfaced showing the lawyers stuck inside the malfunctioning elevator at Islamabad High Court. Notably, Sardar Latif Khosa can be seen in the video, and despite the lack of electricity in the elevator, the lawyers managed to use their mobile phones for communication.
Latif Khosa, along with several other lawyers, remained stuck in the elevator for over 45 minutes. Fortunately, a successful effort was made to safely rescue fifteen individuals, including Naeem Haider Panjutha and Ali Ijaz Butar, who were accompanying Khosa.
The incident unfolded when a group of more than 10 lawyers, who had convened at the Chief Justice’s Court, entered the elevator on the third floor. Regrettably, the elevator became immobilized on the second floor while descending to the ground floor. The trapped individuals were finally freed from the elevator at 12:45, having spent nearly three-quarters of an hour confined within.
It’s worth noting that the Islamabad High Court had only recently moved to a new building three months ago. However, the elevator breakdown occurred surprisingly soon after this relocation, and as of now, no personnel have been designated for elevator maintenance. The malfunctioning elevator lacks essential safety features such as an emergency contact mechanism and proper ventilation.
