In Islamabad, the Pakistan Peoples Party has issued a show cause notice to its senior leader and advocate, Latif Khosa. Nair Bukhari, the Secretary General of the People’s Party, issued this notice, requesting a response within seven days.
The notice outlines concerns that Latif Khosa, despite being a member of the CEC, has publicly defended the leader of another political party without obtaining prior permission from the PPP. Additionally, he is criticized for expressing dissenting views on the government’s stance regarding encryption matters during a lawyers’ event. The notice questions why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
The party has set a seven-day deadline for Latif Khosa to provide a response to the show cause notice. Failure to do so may result in the termination of his party membership.
However, Sardar Latif Khosa has stated that although he has received an invitation to attend the People’s Party’s CEC meeting, he will not be able to participate due to his commitments at the Supreme Court. He further asserts that the PPP is his party, and he cannot be expelled from it. As of now, he has not received any official show cause notice and will make a decision on responding to it once he receives it.
