“Level Playing Field for elections has not been created in Sindh, Farooq Sattar.”

In Islamabad, the MQM party has officially communicated its concerns to the Election Commission regarding various issues, including constituencies, personnel transfers, and appointments. The party has emphasized the need for fair and equitable conditions for the upcoming elections.

Farooq Sattar, a prominent leader of the MQM, stated that they have significant reservations regarding the constituency boundaries established in 2018, suggesting that these constituencies were specifically designed to favor certain parties. The Election Commission has provided assurances that they will address these concerns.

A delegation representing MQM, consisting of five members and led by Farooq Sattar, met with the Chief Election Commissioner to discuss matters related to Karachi’s constituencies and conveyed their apprehensions. During a media briefing, Farooq Sattar expressed dissatisfaction with the constituency delimitation process, asserting that it appeared to benefit one particular party at the expense of MQM, particularly in Sukkur and Mirpur Khas. The MQM delegation has urged the Election Commission to rectify the discrepancies that occurred during the 2018 elections. Additionally, they have raised objections regarding personnel transfers and appointments.

Farooq Sattar further remarked that while the Election Commission is actively preparing for the upcoming general elections, there still exists an administrative imbalance in Sindh that needs to be rectified to ensure a level playing field.

He noted that the caretaker chief minister has provided assurances regarding these matters, and whether these assurances are upheld in the future remains to be seen.
