Mahmood Achakzai’s demand to postpone the presidential election.

In Islamabad, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the leader of the Pashtun Khawa Milli Awami Party, has called for the postponement of the presidential election.

He asserts that Mahmood Achakzai, a presidential candidate representing the Sunni Unity Council, has penned a letter to the Election Commission.

In the letter, he highlights the existence of numerous vacant seats in both the National and Provincial Assemblies, arguing that the election should be delayed until these seats are filled to ensure the completion of the Electoral College.

Achakzai contends that proceeding with the election while certain seats remain vacant would violate the constitution and laws of the country.

Additionally, he mentions that the Sunni Ittehad Council has submitted an application to the Peshawar High Court concerning these specific seats, anticipating a just resolution. It’s worth noting that Asif Ali Zardari is the presidential candidate representing coalition parties such as the Muslim League-N and the People’s Party.
