Islamabad: The District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad have issued notices to the parties involved in the Duran-Idt Nikah case.
During the hearing, the court emphasized that Khawar Manika and his lawyer must appear on June 21; otherwise, a decision will be made based on the available records.
The District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad convened to hear applications for early hearings of appeals against sentences and for the suspension of sentences. Additional and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka presided over the session, with Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Usman Riaz Gul, in attendance.
Advocate Usman Riaz Gul presented the written decision from the Islamabad High Court to the court, indicating that the directive had been received and should be considered for the following day.
Judge Afzal Majoka commented that he would issue a decision within ten days if he is alive, but it could not be done the next day due to a backlog of bail applications. He assured that even if the other party does not appear, a decision will be made.
Advocate Usman Riaz Gul requested that the hearing be scheduled for the next day so that the notices could be included in the record. Judge Afzal Majoka noted that writing the order for the current day’s hearing would be more substantial than a mere notice.
After the arguments, the court adjourned the hearing until June 21.
