Faisalabad police apprehended Khyaal Ahmed Castro, a former Punjab provincial minister and independent candidate affiliated with PTI, following the cancellation of his bail in a case dated May 9. The Faisalabad Police spokesperson confirmed Castro’s arrest. Meanwhile, a video shared on PTI’s official social media account shows four unidentified individuals in plain clothes forcefully escorting Castro into a car.
As per the FIR, Khyal Ahmed Castro was charged with vandalism on May 9 under sections 290 and 291 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Umar Ayub Khan, PTI Secretary General and former Federal Minister, strongly criticized the arrest, asserting that Pakistan lacks justice, rule of law, and equality. In a post on a social media platform, he stated that Khayal Ahmad Castro, a PTI MPA candidate and former MPA, was abducted by unknown persons in broad daylight outside the court premises after being granted bail.
