Rawalpindi: Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are scheduled to be indicted on February 6 in connection with the May 9 cases, as decided by the anti-terrorism court.
Special Judge Malik Ijaz Asif, presiding over the May 9 cases against the PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi at Adiala Jail, oversaw the proceedings. Both individuals were presented before the court.
The PTI founder informed the judge that he was unlawfully detained by the Islamabad High Court on May 9. Instead of receiving justice, he claimed that vindictive cases were filed against him.
Police issued challans in 12 cases related to the May 9 tragedy, including the GHQ attack and attacks on sensitive institutions, against Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed. The court accepted all the challans for hearing and extended the judicial remand of PTI founder Shah Mahmood Qureshi until February 6.
Distribution of case copies to all accused parties will take place at a later date.
