In Peshawar, the legal director of the FIA made a statement in court regarding the blocking of a Member of the Provincial Assembly’s passport, stating that it was done at the request of the agency.
The hearing, concerning a petition against the passport block of Pir Muswar Shah, was conducted in the Peshawar High Court. Advocate Alam Khan Adenzai represented the petitioner, highlighting that as a member of the Provincial Assembly, Shah’s passport had been obstructed.
During the proceedings, the FIA’s legal director informed the court that the passport had indeed been blocked upon the agency’s instruction. Justice Shakeel Ahmed questioned whether the FIA would comply with illegal requests to block passports, emphasizing that action should be taken against any unlawful blocking or inclusion in the stop list. Justice Shakeel Ahmed stressed the importance of not adhering to illegal directives.
Following deliberation, the court granted the petitioner’s request, ordering the restoration of the Provincial Assembly member’s passport.
