The Ministry of Defense has lodged a challenge in the Supreme Court against the halt on civilian trials within military courts.
They argue that removing sections of the Army Act could significantly harm the nation. The Ministry claims the petitions the 5-member bench used for its decision were not acceptable.
They’re urging the Court to reverse the decision that prevented trying those accused of assaulting military installations in military courts, reinstate nullified Army Act sections, and pause trials in military courts until all appeals are concluded.
