Former captain Mohammad Hafeez has tendered his resignation from the PCB’s technical committee a day prior to the announcement of the World Cup squad. In a tweet posted on a social networking platform, Hafeez expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as an honorary member and thanked Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf.
Hafeez further stated, “I am always available whenever Zaka Ashraf requires my candid input for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.” He extended his best wishes to Pakistan Cricket, saying, “Long Live Pakistan.”
It’s worth noting that the Pakistan Cricket Board had formed the Cricket Technical Committee on August 2 of this year, appointing former captain Misbah-ul-Haq as its head. The committee also included Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez as its members.
Mohammad Hafeez had also participated in the meeting chaired by Zaka Ashraf on Thursday, during which the national team’s World Cup squad was finalized. However, the reasons behind Hafeez’s resignation remain undisclosed.
