In Lahore, the ruling coalition has made a significant decision to propose former interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, as a senator.
There are strong indications that Naqvi might assume the role of Interior Minister. Reports suggest that both the Muslim League (N) and the People’s Party have jointly selected Naqvi as their candidate for the Senate.
Furthermore, it is anticipated that Mohsin Naqvi will also take on the responsibility of Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Additionally, there are speculations that upon his election to the Senate, he could be appointed to a key ministry, potentially serving as the Home Minister. Meanwhile, Rana Mehmoodul Hasan is slated to be the senatorial nominee for the People’s Party from Punjab.
