Karachi: MQM Pakistan is gearing up for a seat adjustment on ten provincial seats in Karachi. Additionally, four seats of the National Assembly in Karachi have given their approval for seat adjustments with allied parties.
A significant meeting was held among like-minded parties, including MQM, Muslim League-N, JUIF, ANP, and JDA. Leaders engaged in detailed consultations, leading to crucial decisions. MQM has signaled its intention for seat adjustments with allied parties on 10 provincial and 4 national assembly seats in Karachi.
PML-N, ANP, and JUI will put forward candidates for 10 seats in Karachi, while GDA will field a candidate for a provincial seat in the city. The announcement of candidates and seat adjustments by like-minded parties is expected today.
MQM has not disclosed its candidates for the three national seats in Lyari and Malir. For provincial seats in Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Nawabshah, MQM will nominate candidates. In Hyderabad, MQM will present candidates for two national and four provincial seats.
The national seats in Sukkur, Nawabshah, and Mirpurkhas will feature candidates from coalition parties, with MQM candidates receiving support on the provincial seats of Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, and Tindwalayar.
The adjustment formula for seats in Mirpurkhas, Dadu, and Badin was discussed between PML-N and GDA. According to the election schedule, the revised list of candidates will be released on January 11.
