MQM rejected constituencies, announced to approach the court.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Convener of the United National Movement of Pakistan, voiced strong opposition to the Election Commission’s decisions on constituencies, announcing plans to challenge these decisions in court.

During a press briefing at the Mangal Bazaar ground meeting hall, he emphasized the rejection of the Election Commission’s choices and vowed to take legal action against them.

Stating their allegiance to Pakistan, Siddiqui highlighted the deep-rooted connection they have with the country. He expressed concern over what he perceives as political bias within the Election Commission, particularly in the formation of constituencies. Stressing the need for transparent elections, he condemned any actions that may compromise the fairness of the electoral process. Siddiqui urged the Chief Election Commissioner to address these concerns promptly, criticizing what he sees as partiality within the caretaker government of Sindh.

Moreover, Senior Deputy Convener Mustafa Kamal shared that they had initially lodged objections in 13 constituencies but grew doubtful following statements made by Provincial Commissioner Ejaz Chauhan, whom Kamal labeled as a worker affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party.

Accusing the authorities of manipulating the census in Sindh and raising concerns about potential election rigging, Siddiqui and his party firmly stated their commitment to participating in the upcoming elections despite suggestions from some quarters to boycott or withdraw. They emphasized their determination to engage in the electoral process despite perceived irregularities.
