In Islamabad, the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have been engaged in discussions regarding the appointment of the caretaker prime minister. Sources indicate that a delegation from the People’s Party, including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, and Khurshid Shah, met with Khawaja Asif and Ayaz Sadiq from PML-N to discuss the matter. The committee is also planning to consult with other coalition parties on this issue.
During the consultation, the possibility of seat-to-seat adjustment in the elections was also considered between the two political parties. The parties have shown potential for adjusting in 15 constituencies.
Ultimately, the final decision regarding the caretaker prime minister’s appointment will be made by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari after thorough consultations.
