The Pakistan Muslim League-N has urged the Election Commission to revise the election schedule while keeping the polling date unchanged.
In a letter addressed to the Election Commission, Senator Ishaq Dar, Chairman of the party’s Election Cell, highlighted concerns regarding the current election timeline. He emphasized that the short duration of 3 days for submitting nomination papers, followed by a 7-day scrutiny period, poses significant challenges. The letter stressed the need for additional time to submit nomination papers due to the specific and extensive documentation required, which could lead to rejections based on incomplete or inaccurate information.
The Pakistan Muslim League-N has requested the Election Commission to extend the nomination paper submission deadline by a minimum of 2 days without altering the set date for the general elections.
