NAB’s request to retract reference against government officials.

NAB

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has submitted a request to withdraw the charges against certain government officials in the Accountability Court of Lahore. In their request, NAB stated that Sohail Zafar Chatta, Rai Ijaz, and Kamran Mumtaz had applied to the Chairman of NAB to have the charges withdrawn. After a thorough review of the accused’s applications, NAB found no evidence against other individuals, including DG Anti-Corruption Sohail Zafar Chatta. Consequently, NAB believes it is inappropriate to pursue charges against these officials.

NAB has requested the court to approve the withdrawal of the charges and has decided to close the case against DG Anti-Corruption Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatta, Rai Ijaz, and Kamran Mumtaz. Initially, NAB had filed charges against Sohail Zafar Chatta and others for alleged corruption in Gujarat police funds and misuse of power.
