Renowned actor Nauman Ijaz has recently voiced strong criticism against the content of Pakistani dramas, asserting that they often degrade relationships.
Speaking on a television show, he indicated that if appointed as the chairman of the Censor Board, he would put a halt to Pakistani dramas due to their lack of meaningful storytelling and their depiction of disrespectful relationships.
Nauman Ejaz pointed out that Pakistani dramas frequently portray family members, such as mothers, sisters, and daughters, in negative roles, while fathers and brothers are depicted as villains. He expressed concern over the negative impact such portrayals may have on the sanctity of relationships and called for a ban on such dramas. He urged viewers to boycott such content, believing it disseminates detrimental values to society.
In terms of his own acting choices, Nauman Ejaz stressed that he consciously selects roles that impart valuable lessons to the audience. He avoids delivering dialogues or participating in scenes that could potentially have a negative influence on society.
