
In Islamabad, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has submitted a petition seeking acquittal in the Tosha Khana reference. The Accountability Court in Islamabad conducted a hearing on the case involving Tosha Khana vehicles, which also names President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Ministers Yusuf Raza Gilani and Nawaz Sharif.
Representing Nawaz Sharif, his attorney Rana Muhammad Irfan appeared in court and filed the acquittal plea. The prosecutor mentioned sending the application to the NAB headquarters for a quick review. The Accountability Court has scheduled arguments on Nawaz Sharif’s plea for May 23.
Regarding President Asif Ali Zardari’s involvement, lawyer Arshad Tabrez argued for presidential immunity, which is under review by the NAB prosecutor.
The Accountability Court has postponed further proceedings on the Tosha Khana reference until June 3.
