In the Islamabad Accountability Court, Judge Muhammad Bashir presided over the Toshakhana reference case involving PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gilani, and others. Present were Nawaz Sharif’s legal team, including Qazi Misbah and Arshad Tabriz, along with NAB Prosecutor Irfan Bhola and Sohail Arif.
During the proceedings, Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Rana Irfan appeared before the court, informing that the investigation has been completed, with questions posed and answers duly provided. The prosecutor stated that the responses have been submitted, and further steps will follow, requesting some time for this process.
The defense counsel highlighted that the questionnaire was formulated back in 2019, during Nawaz Sharif’s illness, making it challenging to provide. They also pointed out a lack of documentation regarding the referenced vehicle’s return and asserted that there’s no evidence indicating Nawaz Sharif’s request for any vehicle.
The court sought clarification from NAB on their course of action, prompting the prosecutor to mention reviewing the statements before proceeding further.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of the Toshakhana recurrence case until December 20.
