New feature introduced to know if the song is original or cover

California: YouTube Music has introduced a new feature that makes it easier to find out whether a song you’re looking for is a cover of an original song or a live recording.

This new feature was first spotted by a user of the social networking platform Reddit. When a user searched for a song, the results showed live and cover labels along with the artist’s name, indicating that the song was not original.

These labels are similar to the e-labels (labels that appear next to songs that use foul language) that have long been used on the app.

However, these labels will only be visible in the search results of the song. These labels will not appear when playing a song or within a community playlist. Moreover, these labels will not be visible in the album where this song is present.
