The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has rejected the case alleging an illicit relationship against the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, and Bushra Bibi.
The court, which was hearing the marriage case between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, dismissed the charges, citing that under Section 496B, two witnesses are legally required, but only one was presented. Consequently, the court dropped the charge under 496B, leaving the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi charged under Section 496.
The charges pertain solely to the marriage during Eid, and the court has scheduled the appearance of prosecution witnesses for January 18. The accusations were brought forward by Latif, an employee of Khawar Manika, Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband, relating to incidents that occurred six years ago. The hearing for the Nikah case is set to take place on January 18.
