Instant messaging application WhatsApp is working on an alternative method of logging in to a computer that involves using an eight-digit verification code sent to the phone.
It is a simple process to login WhatsApp by scanning the QR code on a secondary device but it may not be possible every time.
Many times we may face a situation where our camera is broken and unusable and without using the camera users can’t run WhatsApp in another device.
Meta’s sub-app is working on a ‘Link with Phone Number Instead’ feature to deal with this issue. While opting for this new login method user has to enter their country code and mobile number.
After which WhatsApp will send an eight-digit code to the original device. Currently, it appears that this feature is being rolled out for WhatsApp Web, but in the future, Meta will introduce this alternative method. The scope can extend to other secondary devices as well.
According to WhatsApp Beta Info, this alternative method has been introduced in the latest WhatsApp beta version to be released for Android.
