North Korea has fired an intercontinental ballistic missile that can fly longer than any previous missile tested by Kim Jong-un’s regime.
North Korean state media confirmed the successful missile launch and reported it as a reminder to the US mainland to defend our nation and land.
North Korean officials said their country will continue to develop advanced defense weapons to protect its nation and homeland.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said that North Korea fired the missile at a high angle from an area near its capital, Pyongyang.
The statement added that the missile fell into waters about 1,000 kilometers from the east coast.
On the other hand, Japanese Defense Minister General Nakatani also confirmed the missile test and said that the intercontinental ballistic missile of North Korea had been flying in the air for about 86 minutes.
It should be noted that this was North Korea’s first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test this year and this test was conducted when North Korea recently started sending its troops to help Russia in the Ukraine war.
The United States has condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile test, saying it is an unnecessary escalation of tension, but it poses no immediate threat to American personnel, the region or its allies.
South Korea said it will conduct joint military exercises with the United States to curb North Korea’s aggressive war behavior.
It should be remembered that this ballistic missile has a range of 5,500 km and is designed for nuclear tests in the first part.
North Korea has so far conducted one nuclear test in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2017 and two in 2016.
