An objection has been raised against the nomination papers of Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, for NA-127 constituency in Lahore for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The objection, filed by citizen Mohammad Ayaz, contends that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari indicated his association with the Pakistan People’s Party parliamentarians in his nomination papers.
The objection claims a discrepancy between the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, citing different election symbols: a sword for the former and an arrow for the latter. As per the Election Act 2017, it’s highlighted that an individual can only be affiliated with one political party at a time. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari serves as the Chairman of the People’s Party, while Asif Zardari holds the position of President in the People’s Party Parliamentarians, creating an alleged breach of the Election Act.
The nomination papers of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will undergo scrutiny on December 28, based on the objection filed by the concerned citizen.
