The Official Secrets Act Special Court in Islamabad has signaled a commitment to concluding the trial of the cipher case within four weeks.
A formal order has been issued to proceed with the hearing involving the Chairman of PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The Islamabad High Court has mandated the trial’s completion within this stipulated four-week period.
The next hearing for the case is scheduled for December 2 at 9 AM within the confines of the jail premises. Notably, both Chairman PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were not physically present during this court session.
Specific instructions have been directed to the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the Jail Superintendent to ensure all legal protocols are followed. Additionally, the Ministry of Law issued a notification on November 29 regarding the jail trial, with the superintendent’s letter reaching the court on November 30. This aligns with the court’s order on November 28 for the cipher case to proceed as a jail trial.
Further, notices have been dispatched to the FIA for Chairman PTI’s court appearance in due course.
