Ogra approves hike in gas price by up to 50%

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved up to 50% price hike to increase the revenue of gas companies. 

Ogra has approved to increase the price of gas to consumers by 50% while meeting the revenue requirements of Sui Northern and Sui Southern Gas Company. 

According to the notification issued by Ogra, an average increase of 42% has been approved in the price of gas for the consumers of Sui Northern, according to which the gas price for the consumers will increase by Rs. 415.11 per mmbtu and the rate will be Rs.

It will be 68 paise. Apart from this, Ogra also approved to increase the rate for the customers of Sui Southern Gas Company by Rs.417 per mmbtu, after which the rate for customers of Sui Southern will be Rs.1350 per mmbtu or 68 paise per unit.
