The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the killing of 9 Palestinians during an operation by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
According to the report of the foreign news agency “Anadolu”, the Palestinian Ministry of Health says that 9 Palestinian citizens were killed and 50 injured today by the firing of the Israeli forces in the city of Jenin in the West Bank.
The OIC said in a statement that this heinous crime is an extension of the crimes and organized state terrorism perpetrated against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation.
The OIC has called for an investigation and accountability, holding Israel responsible for the consequences of this heinous crime.
The OIC called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibility by implementing its respective resolutions to end Israel’s continued terrorism, and provide security to the Palestinian people.
According to Israeli security forces, more than 1,000 soldiers were involved in the Jenin operation.
The Israeli army spokesman said that this operation focused on the Jenin refugee camp and was a continuation of the operations that we have and will continue to do.
It should be noted that in recent months, tensions have increased after Israeli attacks on Palestinian towns in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Ministry of Health, around 190 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of this year, while at least 25 Israelis have also been killed during the same period.
