In Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed that the government is taking active measures to restore the economy, and improvements will become evident in the near future.
During a private TV interview, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar mentioned their commitment to enhancing governance affairs, emphasizing their efforts towards economic recovery, with the positive outcomes of government actions expected to materialize soon.
He highlighted the significant strides made in economic recovery and the agricultural sector under the SIFC initiative, emphasizing stringent measures to combat smuggling in border regions.
On the subject of investment, the caretaker prime minister noted the interest of Gulf countries in investing in the mineral sector, underscoring positive discussions between the Saudi crown prince and the army chief regarding potential investments.
Anwarul Haq Kakar also emphasized Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen economic relations with regional countries. He mentioned that the caretaker government is closely monitoring its expenditures and addressing pension fund-related issues.
The Caretaker Prime Minister stressed their agenda of making sound decisions rather than decisions based on popularity. He noted that, following the eighteenth amendment, the current president can remain in office until the election of a new president.
Regarding the election timeline, he deferred to the Election Commission for a decision but suggested holding elections before March to ensure timely election of new members to the upper house.
