
In Islamabad, the Palestinian ambassador held a meeting with Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, expressing gratitude to the Pakistani nation for their steadfast support of the Palestinians.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the freedom of Palestine. Also present at the meeting were Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and the Foreign Secretary.
The Prime Minister extended appreciation to President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine for his congratulatory message and strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. Emphasizing the deep historical ties between Pakistan and Palestine, he reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause in various international forums, including the United Nations and the OIC.
Shahbaz Sharif reiterated the urgent need for an immediate cessation of the genocidal actions against the Palestinian people, expressing sorrow over the loss of more than 32,000 Palestinian lives due to Israeli military operations.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister discussed the interim ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding the case brought forward by South Africa, noting Pakistan’s backing of Palestine in the ICJ proceedings.
The meeting welcomed the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2728 and assured the Palestinian ambassador of Pakistan’s continued cooperation and solidarity. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif pledged ongoing advocacy for the Palestinian cause on the global stage. Additionally, Pakistan has sent seven shipments of relief supplies to Gaza, with plans for further aid following Eid.
In response, the Palestinian Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan for their unwavering support.
