Indictment proceedings against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other defendants in the illegal recruitment case were once again delayed in Lahore today.
During the hearing at the anti-corruption court, the jail authorities failed to present Parvez Elahi, leading to the court deferring the indictment due to incomplete attendance of the accused.
Tahir, Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, submitted a medical report stating that Parvez Elahi had sustained a minor fracture after slipping in the washroom on March 17.
Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta adjourned the hearing until April 4, incorporating the medical report into the proceedings, and summoned all accused parties for the next session to proceed with the indictment.
This case stems from charges filed by the anti-corruption establishment against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and others related to illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly.
