The manager of renowned Pakistani singer Ali Zafar has disclosed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initially approached him to create the anthem for PSL Season 9 but later apologized.
In a conversation with Independent Urdu, Ali Zafar’s manager revealed that the PCB had contacted the singer directly, requesting him to compose the anthem for PSL 9. Over a span of two months, Ali Zafar diligently worked on the anthem, covering expenses for music producers and musicians. Subsequently, he presented three different versions of the PSL 9 anthem to the PCB for consideration.
As Ali Zafar was in the finalization stage, the PCB informed him that they could no longer collaborate on the PSL 9 anthem project. The manager explained that the decision stemmed from reservations expressed by one of the PSL franchises, leading to Ali Zafar’s removal from the anthem project.
It’s worth noting that Ali Zafar has previously sung anthems for three PSL seasons, gaining significant popularity. Fans were eagerly anticipating his rendition for PSL 9 as well.
PSL 9 is scheduled to commence on February 17, with the first match taking place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The T20 tournament will feature a total of 34 matches, concluding with the PSL final in Karachi on March 18.
