The Peshawar High Court has deferred its ruling on a bail request seeking information on the legal matters involving Murad Saeed, as requested by the government.
An application was filed by the father of Murad Saeed, a former federal minister and a prominent figure in PTI, urging for temporary bail and disclosure of cases involving federal and provincial authorities, defense officials, NAB, FIA, and the police.
During the hearing presided over by Justice Ijaz Khan, the legal counsel emphasized the necessity of halting any potential arrest of Murad Saeed and demanded clarity on the cases. The Additional Advocate General pointed out that Qazi Anwar had previously represented Murad Saeed in court, but his absence led to the denial of relief, a situation attributed to the fear of arrest.
Justice Ejaz Khan inquired about the timeline for sharing the case details. The Additional Advocate General committed to providing the information within a week. Subsequently, the court reserved its decision on Murad Saeed’s interim bail plea while stipulating a one-week deadline for the government to furnish the case particulars.
Notably, Murad Saeed’s father, in the application, stressed the importance of preventing Murad Saeed’s arrest and insisted on the provision of all case details despite multiple prior requests remaining unaddressed.
