In Peshawar, the Sunni Ittehad Council has submitted a plea to the Peshawar High Court requesting specific assembly seats, scheduled for today’s hearing.
Reportedly, the PTI has also lodged a petition in the Peshawar High Court, involving the Election Commission and various political parties such as Muslim League-N, PPP, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, MQM, among others.
The petition asserts that independent candidates of PTI have aligned with the Sunni Ittehad Council, expecting proportional allocation of specific seats in line with general seat distribution. However, despite their alliance, these seats haven’t been granted to the Sunni Ittehad Council. The petition seeks the possibility of post-election allotment of specific seats and requests prompt hearing, set for today.
Furthermore, PTI’s plea for reserved seats for women and minorities within the Sunni Ittehad Council is also slated for today’s hearing, presided over by a two-member bench comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Shakeel Ahmed.
