Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has introduced the use of electric scooters (e-scooters) for pilgrims during this Hajj season.
According to Arab media, three specific routes have been designated for e-scooters. These routes include the Muzdalifah-Mina route, a pedestrian route for Jamrat West, and a dedicated pedestrian route for Jamrat East. Each route is 1.2 km long and 24 meters wide, ensuring a safer and more efficient journey for e-scooter users.
Saudi officials have stated that the e-scooters, which have a maximum speed of 15 km per hour, are user-friendly and will allow pilgrims to travel more quickly.
Additionally, the Saudi Ministry of Health has introduced a smart robot service near the main area of the Prophet’s Mosque in the Madinah region. This service will provide pilgrims with necessary information, health advice, and assistance.
