The Pakistan Muslim League-N has urged the Election Commission to ensure fairness in Sindh. Bashir Memon, the President of Sindh Muslim League-N, penned a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, emphasizing the need for a level playing field among all political parties during elections.
In the letter, Memon highlighted the existence of an organized corrupt network in the province, alleging collaboration between the People’s Party and local authorities in holding rallies. He specifically called for an investigation into the continued presence of PSP officers in Sindh.
Speaking to the media, PML-N’s Sindh President, Bashir Memon, stated that he met with the Chief Election Commissioner to request a balanced electoral environment in Sindh.
Memon expressed confidence in Caretaker Chief Minister Maqbool Baqir but voiced concerns about the bureaucracy’s influence on him. He noted that the bureaucracy surrounding the Chief Minister tends to mislead, undermining trust in their guidance.
Moreover, Memon pointed out that during the previous elections, the PPP received 3.8 million votes compared to the opposition’s 6.4 million votes. He highlighted the transfer of officers who previously served in the PPP government to other districts, potentially impacting the transparency of future elections. If this pattern persists, it could jeopardize the fairness of the electoral process.
