President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed a message to the nation on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2024, extending warm wishes and heartfelt congratulations to everyone. He emphasized the significance of this day, marking the historic resolution of Pakistan in 1940, which laid the groundwork for our nation’s independence. President Zardari urged reflection on our journey, celebration of achievements, and a recommitment to a prosperous and united Pakistan, acknowledging the vision and determination of our forefathers.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the Pakistan Resolution in shaping our history, he credited Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions for translating Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal’s dream into reality. He praised the unwavering dedication of our armed forces, civil administration, police, and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the nation’s safety, security, and sovereignty, particularly in combating terrorism and responding to natural disasters.
President Zardari also recognized the sacrifices of Kashmiris in the struggle for freedom and condemned the repression by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris until their right to self-determination is realized. Additionally, he expressed concern over the plight of Palestinians and reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Al-Quds Sharif.
