Alvi affirmed his commitment to administering oaths to elected leaders, irrespective of their affiliations, in accordance with the responsibilities of his position.
Regarding the upcoming elections, the President refrained from addressing the King’s Party to prevent controversy surrounding his role. He expressed his aversion to violent politics, condemning the events of May 9 while urging governments to prevent situations that could escalate protests into violence.
On the issue of Afghan refugees, President Alvi suggested a potential revision of the decision to repatriate them, subject to discussions with global stakeholders and the Afghan government. He clarified that the final decision rests with the forum where this matter was initially agreed upon.
