Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on the workers’ convention of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) in Bajaur, describing it as a direct assault on Pakistan’s democracy.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, accompanied by several federal ministers, including Bilawal Bhutto Razdari and Ishaq Dar, visited the residence of JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman to express their condolences over the tragic incident.
The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the nation in the aftermath of the devastating blast at the JUI convention. He emphasized that such an attack on a political gathering strikes at the heart of democracy in the country. He prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for strength and patience for the grieving families. The injured victims are receiving the best possible medical care, ensuring their well-being and recovery.
Among the dignitaries who joined the Prime Minister in offering their support and condolences were Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani, Maulana Asad Mehmood, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Sardar Israr Tareen, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, and Member National Assembly Abdul Akbar Chitrali.
The entire nation stands united in mourning and denounces this tragic incident, reaffirming its commitment to upholding democracy and countering acts of violence.
