Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the 1200 MW nuclear power plant agreement is another milestone, this agreement will boost Pakistan-China economic relations.
Addressing the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of Chashma 5 Nuclear Power Plant, the Prime Minister said that despite the difficult economic conditions, Pakistan is committed to economic recovery.
The investment of 8 billion dollars is a positive step, this agreement is a sign of the confidence of Chinese investors and companies in Pakistan.

He said that the 1200 MW nuclear power plant agreement is another milestone, this agreement will promote Pakistan-China economic relations, Chashma 5 nuclear power plant has a capacity of 1200 MW, the total cost of the project is 400 billion dollars.
The previous government had put the project in cold storage. The Prime Minister said that the prices have increased due to inflation in the world, the Chinese company has not increased the prices despite the inflation, the Chinese company has given a discount of 30 billion rupees on my request.

China and Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of Chashma 5 nuclear power plant.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Khurram Dastgir were also present in the ceremony.
It should be noted that Chashma 3 was inaugurated in December 2016 and Chashma 4 was inaugurated in September 2017.
