Karachi: Anwar Haq Kakar, the Caretaker Prime Minister, has conveyed a resolute message that he remains undaunted by the threat of suicide bombers and is committed to standing firm against terrorism.
Addressing the media in Karachi, Anwar Haq Kakar expressed his contentment regarding the successful rescue of all the children stranded in the Bitgram chairlift incident. He emphasized that he would commemorate the children’s survival in this rescue operation.
He acknowledged the contributions of the military, highlighting their support not only in defense but also during natural disasters, fostering increased trust in their capabilities. He questioned who should take responsibility for the children’s rescue, recognizing the challenge therein. He lamented the diversion of the conversation on social media from the genuine essence of the incident, cautioning against such distractions.
The Caretaker Prime Minister commemorated the sacrifice of ten soldiers in Waziristan the previous day. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering determination to combat extremism and terrorism, refuting the notion of surrender. He pledged to continue the fight against terrorists, underlining that surrender is not an option.
Anwar Haq Kakar emphasized the local nature of their efforts, asserting that Pakistan is their homeland, not a place thousands of miles away. He dismissed any misconceptions that acts of terrorism would weaken their resolve or lead to fatigue. He vowed to honor the memory of martyrs and remain resolute in their cause.
Regarding the financial aspect, the Caretaker Prime Minister clarified that the country funds its security forces through taxes, discrediting the idea that these efforts are based on charity. He stressed that military personnel are compensated with respect and dignity rather than just salaries, which cater to their needs. He underscored the nation’s commitment to upholding this sense of honor and respect.
Anwar Haq Kakar highlighted that while terrorists may momentarily pose a challenge, they lack the endurance for sustained conflict. He mentioned that efforts would continue to address their misguided ideologies and actions, with the hope that they might change their ways.
He further noted that terrorists might have misconstrued the departure of certain forces as a sign of their own stability. He assured that efforts would be undertaken to change this perception of endurance sooner rather than later.
