
In Shenzhen, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its agricultural production and exports through modern technology.
He emphasized the desire to strengthen cooperation with China in information technology, artificial intelligence, modern agriculture, and other fields.
This statement was made during his meeting with Meng Fenli, head of Shenzhen and vice head of Guangdong Province, in Shenzhen.
The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at visiting Shenzhen again after many years and thanked the Shenzhen government and its people for their hospitality.
He highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, describing it as higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the sea, and sweeter than honey.
He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their support during challenging times.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s full support for China’s One China policy and noted that Shenzhen is a sister city to Lahore and Guangdong is a sister province to Punjab.
He admired China’s development and expressed a desire to learn from it, particularly in the information technology sector. The Prime Minister highlighted that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) aims to boost domestic exports through cooperation and investment from Pakistani and Chinese companies. He underscored that Pakistan’s young workforce, which makes up 60 percent of the population, is a significant asset shared with Shenzhen. He hoped for an increase in the number of Pakistani students in Shenzhen.
Meng Fenli acknowledged the strong and deep friendship between China and Pakistan, stating that it was an honor for the Shenzhen government and its people to host the Prime Minister. He expressed confidence that the meetings would enhance mutual relations and partnerships. The meetings were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, and Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
