Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has announced the date for its intra-party election to meet the Election Commission of Pakistan’s requirements. The party disclosed that the elections, slated for Saturday, will encompass all positions, including the chairman.
Reports from PTI sources indicate that Imran Khan won’t participate in these intra-party elections, and his sister isn’t contending for the party’s chairmanship either.
Conversely, sources suggest that Hamid Khan and Barrister Gauhar Khan’s names are under consideration for the PTI’s new chairman, with the final announcement expected by tomorrow.
Earlier, on November 20, the Election Commission declared PTI’s intra-party election as lacking transparency and mandated a re-election within 20 days. The Commission specified that the PTI must submit the election report within 7 days of the election’s conclusion.
The Election Commission also directed that until the intra-party elections are conducted within the stipulated 20-day timeframe, PTI would retain its bat symbol. Failure to comply would result in the withdrawal of the symbol from the party.
